Description

The Queen's Medical Center Emergency Waiting Room is seeking volunteers to be the liaison between the patients, their family, and the ER. Volunteers are vital to the communication in the Emergency Department.

Once the volunteer has completed their initial training, they may then elect to train in the Emergency Waiting Room. Hours available for volunteers for the ER waiting room are four hour shifts from 10:00 a.m. to midnight, Friday through Monday.

Skills

The following skills are required: proficiency in English both written and verbal, superior customer service, establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and staff, desire to please, care, compassion, and aloha.

All Queen's volunteers are required to complete a two-step TB clearance, attend Orientation from the Volunteer Office and purchase a Queen's volunteer uniform. Lots of training for this position is provided.
