CASA of Denton County, Inc. needs volunteers to serve as advocates for children who have been abused and/or neglected and removed from their homes by Child Protective Services. Advocates at CASA of Denton County represent children as their Guardian Ad Litem in court, actively working for the child's best interest. You will conduct an independent, fact-finding investigation into the circumstances of a child or children living in alternate care (foster home or relative's home). Advocates then make recommendations to the District Court Judge as to what is in the best interest of that child. Should a child be returned to their parents? Should parental rights be terminated and the child be allowed to be adopted by another family or family member? We believe there are easier volunteer opportunities in our community, but few are so vital and meaningful as a CASA advocate. Contact CASA of Denton County, Inc. so you may "Speak up for a Child"!
