Description
Although more than two years have passed since Hurricanes Katrina and Rita devastated the Gulf Coast, thousands remain in FEMA trailers and are still critically in need of help. As you can imagine, the most vulnerable low-income homeowners - the elderly and disabled - were disproportionately impacted. Rebuilding Together coordinates volunteers to repair and rebuild the homes of affected families accross the Gulf Coast. The strength of RT's work in the Gulf relies on your continued participation; we need your help in as volunteers to accelerate the rebuilding in the Gulf. We currently have completed more than 300 projects in the Gulf region and our goal is to rebuild 500 homes by the end of 2008.
Volunteer housing, meals, and ground transportation to and from the work site are provided free of charge.
