Pet Therapy animals needed to visit Hospice Patients

Organization

HOSPICE CARE OF THE WEST
(4 reviews)

Description

We are looking for all types of animals who are currently certified as a Pet Therapy animal to visit our patients on Hospice. You would never know how much these pet therapy visits impact the lives of those on hospice until you witness this first hand. There is an unspoken connection between the animal and hospice patient which is amazing to experience. These visits are very meaningful to our patients and we would love to have you join our team of volunteers. We have a wonderful group of volunteers who give unselfishly of themselves to make our patients feel special, loved and wanted. Our goal is to make a difference in the lives of our patients and their families and to treat each patient as we would our own family member.

Skills

The owner must attend one of our volunteer training sessions and the pet is welcome to come with you
