Electrical Engineer Volunteer (1 Hour Per Week)

Description

Our organization needs a skilled Electrical Engineer Volunteer to review 'Solar Energy Roof Panel' products for a small on-line Team of other volunteers for the Chamber of Commerce for Individuals with Disabilities (a not-for-profit organization) to advise how best to add solar panels to the final construction ready drawings of a prefabricated, hexagon shaped, 511SQ' single room addition for a wheel chair bound person who needs an accessible room addition to avoid a possible lengthy stay in a nursing home or assisted living facility.

Our proposed 511SQ' prefabricated module might be added to the house in the back yard of any one's residence to provide ultimate accessibility features.

Read an article about 'Long Live the Granny Cottage' at http://tinyurl.com/45ena8. You can also visit http://MothersHouse.org for additional details.

The position is well suited for a retired professional electrical engineer.

Our proposed single stand-a-lone modular design seeks to emulate a design first created by Frank Lloyd Wright built in1937 in California http://tinyurl.com/3xtu57.

What you get:

The problem of not having any current work experience on one's resume is a Catch-22.

Disabled, unemployed, underemployed, Veterans, and retired individuals who don't have a recent job do not have any current work experience that they can place on their resumes when interviewing for a job.

Volunteers who join CCID FREE at http://tinyurl.com/pmw755 receive: (1) FREE Membership, (2) Membership Certificate, (3) access to our free on-line "Self-Employment Course", (4) access to our free "Biz Plan Wizard" to assist writing a formal business plan, possibly (5) a 'Certificate Of Completion' for completing 16 community service hours, and possibly (6) a 'Letter Of Reference' for volunteer work completed successfully, professionally, and in a timely manner.

We can not pay our Volunteer Members any money, but many times volunteers receive much more than the value of money for their volunteer efforts by obtaining a new job through updating their resume by adding a new section entitled "Volunteer Work Experience'.

Example: If 2 people each interview for the same job opening and both are equally qualified, many interviewers will consider the candidate's Volunteer Work Experiences' when making the final hiring decision.

"Letters of Reference" written for outstanding Volunteers has enabled some "Volunteer Members" to obtain: (1) a great paying Summer Internship with Southwest Airlines, (2) acceptance into the University of Texas at Dallas graduate school, (3) job as an ASP.NET programmer at Conagra Foods (a national food supply corporation), and (4) employment at Robert Half Internet Technology Consultants as a contract employee.

Skills

  • Volunteer must be a practicing or retired professional electrical engineer with a desire to learn about solar panel installations and possibly have a personal interest either in alternative housing for a disabled family member or want to assist disabled veterans with accessible affordable energy efficient housing.
