Join us at Four Mile Historic Park for our Pumpkin Harvest Festival during the first weekend of October! Volunteers are needed to help facilitate county fair games, assist visitors at our scarecrow-making station and in our pumpkin patch, assist visitors to the historic Four Mile House and act as tractor-crossing guards on our wagon trails.
A great opportunity for individual volunteers as well as service groups!
About Pumpkin Harvest Festival: This community event helps raise money to further the Park's education and preservation initiatives. It's a fun, old-time fall festival with county fair games, historic demonstrations, tractor rides, a pumpkin patch, crafts for kids, and more!
Shifts are short so you can give a little time or do more than one job across different shifts. Volunteers are welcome (and encouraged!) to enjoy the festival before or after their shift for free. To see what shifts are available and sign up: https://signup.com/go/qtoUmrV

Mission Statement
The mission of the Four Mile Historic Park is to educate a diverse community through experiences which promote preservation, interpretation and enjoyment of Denver’s western heritage.
Description
Built in 1859, Four Mile House is Denver's oldest standing structure and the centerpiece of a 12-acre park. Built as a wagon stop and wayside Inn along the Cherokee Trail, it was the last stop en route to Denver and the first leaving town. After the railroad arrived in 1870, the Booth family transformed the site into a prosperous 600 acre ranch/farm. Today, this National Register Historic House museum and living history farm offers programs and heritage events that transport visitors to the early days of western migration and settlement. We focus on the history of the site and give participants hand-ons opportunities to learn about life in the Denver region during the late 19th-century.
