Advocate Hospice Bereavement Volunteers provide bereavement support to patients loved ones. Bereavement volunteer's are needed to make phone calls to bereaved family members to offer support and resources. Volunteers are also needed to assist the bereavement coordinator with bereavement mailings. The goal is to support the grieving individual through their grief process and grief work. Volunteer opportunities are available in our Des Plains office.
All bereavement volunteers are supervised by the Volunteer Coordinator and the Bereavement Coordinator.
All volunteers must go through a 16 hour training provided in a flexible schedule, a background check, flu vaccine and 2 step TB test.

Description
Advocate Hospice is a full service hospice that provides quality end of life care to patients and their loved ones. Staff and volunteers provide patients with physical, emotional, social and spiritual support. Patients are serviced throughout the Chicagoland area where ever they call home i.e. nursing home, their home, assisted living or hospital. The goal of our volunteer program is to support and encourage our patients and their loved ones through service and acts of kindness and compassion.
