The Kansas City Chapter of the Foundation Fighting Blindness is hosting the 13th Annual VisionWalk on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at Frank A. Theis Park at the Amphitheatre on Brush Creek (south of the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art).

Registration starts at 9:00 a.m.
The Walk begins at 10:30 a.m.

Volunteer shifts begin at 6:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

VisionWalk is a 5K, family-friendly walk-a-thon designed to raise awareness of the Foundation's mission and to fund research to cure retinal degenerative diseases.

Several volunteer opportunities are available, including:

Set-up & Tear Down Volunteers: Help set up pop-up tents, tables, chairs, kid's activities and get first pick of the food and coffee! Tear down volunteers help break everything down and get to take home left over treats!

Registration & Accounting Volunteers: Greet event attendees and help process event-day donations.

T-shirt Volunteers: Help pass out T-shirts!

Info Booth Volunteers: Give out event and Foundation information. Sell raffle tickets!

Kid's Activities Volunteers: Man the bounce house and help with face painting.

Food Volunteers: Set up and maintain the food station.

Walk Route Volunteers: Cheer on the walkers and help pass out water.

The urgent mission of The Foundation Fighting Blindness, Inc. (FFB) is to drive the research that will provide preventions, treatments and cures for people affected by retinitis pigmentosa (RP), macular degeneration, Usher Syndrome, and the entire spectrum of retinal degenerative diseases.

Description

Each year, our VisionWalks raise awareness and funds for blinding eye diseases. We are asking for your support to raise lots of great research dollars for retinal degenerative diseases and help our Walk Day run well. Throughout the Midwest, the Foundation Fighting Blindness hosts VisionWalks in every state - walkathon-style fundraisers to support the mission of the Foundation Fighting Blindness. The events feature entertainment and family friendly activities.
