Skilled portrait photographer needed for client photos and staff profiles. Pictures will be posted on TJC website and used in organization publications. Yearly "Mothers of the Year" program honors mothers across the state of Tennessee who act as extraordinary advocates for their own children and others. In addition to public recognition and a certificate, the families receive a free photo shoot and framed photographs. Photographers are needed to take these pictures. Our mothers are from across Tennessee, so proximity to Nashville is not necessary. Some travel within Tennessee is required (and reimbursed).

About Tennessee Justice Center

Location:

Mission Statement

The Tennessee Justice Center (TJC) is a non-profit, public interest law and advocacy firm serving the poor. We give priority to policy issues and civil cases in which the most basic necessities of life are at stake, and where our advocacy can benefit families statewide. We work to empower our clients by holding government accountable for its policies and actions. We advocate on behalf of poor Tennesseans: in areas of public policy having the greatest impact on their health and welfare; by means which afford clients opportunities to make their own voices heard; and in ways which emphasize collaboration across lines of race, class and generation.

Description

TJC provides client advocacy and education: We provide legal assistance and community education to low-income families in Tennessee, and to other agencies that serve Tennessee families. We enable families to obtain needed medical and mental health care through TennCare.

TJC affects systemic changes: We serve as court-authorized counsel in class action litigation to secure federal rights for all 1.1 million children and adults on TennCare. TennCare reforms enacted as a result of our legal advocacy have positively affected the lives of 1.1 million Tennesseans.
