Operation Bootstrap operates a Distance Learning Program for non-English speaking adults. The students complete the lessons online at home. Most of the course focuses on grammar, reading and writing. Many of the students want to complement this course with the opportunity to practice their speaking and listening skills. We need English speaking volunteers who are willing to meet with individual distance-learners for one hour per week to engage in informal conversation.

Description
Pathways (formerly Operation Bootstrap) is an adult education center in Lynn, MA, serving adults in the Lynn area by providing classes in ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages), Adult Basic Education, GED/HiSET preparation, and US Citizenship. Started in 1976, Bootstrap has served over 15,000 students over the past 40 years. The current roster of 300 adult students comes from 32 different countries around the world.
