ORGANIZATION: Courage Reins Equine-Assisted Therapies

VOLUNTEERING AT COURAGE REINS

The corner stone of our success would have to be our volunteers. They are at the barn in searing heat and below zero cold. They are shift leaders, sidewalkers, leadwalkers, photographers, horse mentors, sweepers and feeders to name a few of the duties they take on. They are involved in every part of our operation. Any given month we have between 100-150 active volunteers and their hours exceed our paid staff by more than 200 percent. Our need for volunteers is great. An actual lesson may require as many as 9 people to maintain safety and support. We also have assignments in the offices if that would suit you better.

Becoming a Volunteer
  • Just give us a call or go directly to our website to help you through the process. Find us at, www.couragereins.org - You will find everything you need.
  • Anyone wishing to work with the horses and riders will need to complete the levels of certification related to your areas of interest.

High School & College Internships

Each intern makes an appointment to shape their experience with us towards the goals they might wish to address.

Completing Community Service Hours

We are happy to have people serve their community hours with us provided their offense doesn't include violations against a person and/or animal.

Single Visit Volunteers

You have a free afternoon? Want a different idea for a date? We always have work that needs to be done. Please call ahead for our current hours of operation. 801-756-8900

Partners in Scouting

Numerous Eagle Scout Service Projects have been successfully coordinated with us. We are currently registered with the BSA - Utah National Parks Council in Orem as a service project site. Please get in touch with the Executive Director for a current list of projects available.

Supporting a Corporate Goal for Volunteerism It's not unusual these days for corporations or businesses to encourage their employees to join with them in contributing volunteer service to locations in their community.
