Organize a Boot Camp to Beat Cancer

Description

Members of campus chapters of Students of AMF across the country are committed to fighting cancer and other diseases in their communities year-round, but once a year, they gather at the Boot Camp to Beat Cancer to raise awareness about cancer, fundraise to find new treatments and cures in memory of loves ones, and to inspire those battling the disease to continue to fight. Each of the Boot Camps nationwide are fun, half-day events that mobilizes communities to celebrate those diagnosed with cancer, remember lost loved ones and raise money to beat cancer. Battalions of five to 15 members gather with the goal of raising the most money and motivating the most people to participate. The Boot Camp 2 Beat Cancer brings together friends, families, schools, churches, hospitals, and businesses. Battalions seek sponsorship prior to the Boot Camp, all with the goal of eliminating cancer. 2007's Boot camp to Beat Cancer raised over $40,000 in one weekend for cancer research and to support grieving college students, and with your help, we hope to increase this number each year. National Students of AMF has created a booklet for anyone interested in hosting a Boot Camp. National Students of AMF staff is always willing to help by providing advice, support and information on how to set up a successful event.
