About

The Arthritis Foundation's Walk to Cure Arthritis raises funds to fight and cure the nation's #1 cause of disability. Money raised from the Arthritis Walk will help fund the mission of the Arthritis Foundation, which is to improve lives through leadership in the prevention, control and cure of arthritis and related diseases. Volunteers are needed on Saturday, May 16th to make sure the event runs smoothly. Here is a list of assignments: Set-up Crew: starts at 6am & Clean-up Crew: starts at 10am Assist with set-up, clean-up and break-down of equipment and transporting people. Place signage, drop-off tables, water and cups. At end of the event, pick-up trash and clean-up event site Course Monitors: starts at 8:00am Setup/mark course with markers, supervise traffic along the course route, help participants cross busy intersections, cheer participants on the route and return signage Greeters: starts at 7:00am Greet participants as they arrive, direct them to registration tables Pre-Registration Check-in: starts at 7:00am Check-in pre-registered participants, collect money, pass out route map with agenda & goody bags Registration Table Helpers: starts at 7:00am Check-in participants, collect money and pass out route map with agenda Starting Line Attendants: starts at 7:00am Decorate starting line area with balloons, banners, etc. Cheer participants at the starting line. Finish Line: starts at 10:00am Cheer participants across finish line; assist with clean-up at the finish line. Arthritis Foundation Booth Attendants: starts at 8:00am Hand out AF materials and sign-in e-advocates. Refreshment Helpers: starts at 7:00am Set-up tables, hand out refreshment at conclusion of the event and clean-up refreshment area Water Station Attendants : 8:00-10:00am & 10-2pm Load water and tables onto truck, set-up water stations & pass out water during and at the end of the event, gather and return unused water to tables. Floaters: starts at 7:30 Assist with various assignments in different areas throughout the event Water Stop Captains: starts at 9:00am Supervising the water stops, ensuring that supplies are available, setting up water stops, cheering on the participants. ********************************************************************************************************* Did you know... * Arthritis is the #1 cause of physical disability in the country. * 50 million Americans have doctor-diagnosed arthritis. Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis is one of the most common chronic illnesses in children.
