The Community Services unit is the main crime prevention unit for the Arizona Attorney General's Office. We focus heavily on consumer fraud but also work with victim's services and Civil Rights violations.

There are a few opportunities that we have. One is to work in a community satellite office. We have two types of offices. One is an office where we hold regular office hours and traffic will vary widly but you essentially assist people who come to us for help. We train you with a 3 course program. The other type of office is a satellite center. These are libraries, community centers etc. You essentially help us as an on-call volunteer to assist people who need help from our office and help organize and monitor our centers to make sure they are stocked, clean and working.

We also do a heavy load of direct victim assistance in the areas of elder issues and identity theft. Again, we will train you. You will work directly with victims of varying different issues and help them resolve it.

Our third is an educational program called "Fraud Fighters". This program consists of you going out into the community and teaching others about identity theft, the top 10 consumer scams, predatory lending or life care planning. We usually have people coming to us requesting these presentations and we will train you extensively in how to handle these presentations, but you will go out and give the presentation. This is the most involved program and will require a heavy time committment from you.
