Provide direction to HTAS, the Haverford Township Adult School. We are seeking RESIDENTS of or owners of businesses located in HAVERFORD Township to serve on the Board of Directors. We are especially interested in volunteers with skills in one of the following areas: bookkeeping/accounting, marketing/social media, fundraising/development, and IT. HTAS is also seeking an attorney to serve on its Board. Board members attend meetings 8 times/year, and serve on committees to determine curriculum, oversee our website and social media presence, finances, and community relations.
HTAS is also seeking Advisory board members from Haverford Township and the surrounding communities to provide professional advice on an as needed basis. We currently are seeking an attorney and someone with expertise in fundraising/development, marketing, website management, and finance/accounting. Haverford Township residents/business owners and people who have taken courses at HTAS are preferred but nearby residents and business owners are welcome to apply.
HTAS is an independent non-profit organization and is NOT affiliated with either the Haverford Township School District or the government of Haverford Township.

To provide quality education, information, community development and recreation programs that are convenient and affordable. Our programs reflect developing values and needs of a diverse community in a changing world. We serve adults from all backgrounds and educational needs. While our primary focus is on residents of Haverford Township, adults from all communities are welcome. The Adult School strives to offer programs that enrich personal and professional development, as well as a sense of community spirit and participation.
Description
Haverford Township adult school is an independent, non-profit organization. Course fees and donations provide our sole source of income to cover faculty compensation, facility charges, production and mailing of brochure and all other operating expenses. We ARE NOT supported by any tax revenues. HTAS DEPENDS ON VOLUNTEERS to keep overhead low and class tuition very affordable. HTAS offers Fall and Spring semester classes. Most classes take place in the Haverford Township High school and Middle School buildings but we are independent from the public school district.
