Assigned Tasks: Assist cabin renters with information; help office staff with cabin check in; keep cabin area maintained (i.e.: cabin inspections, cabin restroom inspections with minor repairs and spot cleaning and ground maintenance) and minor park maintenance. Must provide their own RV/Camper (Tent site is not available). The position is available for Individual or Couples.
Supervisor(s): Laura Kruger, Park Services Specialist, Cass Meadows ; Assistant Park Manager Number of Hours Required for Position: A minimum of 20 hours a week with the ability to be on site during weekends. Standards and Performance: Volunteer will report to work on day(s) assigned. The volunteer will check in with the supervisor for the day's duties and shift sign in. Once the volunteer has finished their shift, they will sign out. When possible if the volunteer cannot make the assigned date, he/she will notify the supervisor before the shift starts.

Quality resource-based outdoor recreation experiences assure that Florida's state parkss will continue to serve as major tourist destinations,thereby contributing significantly to the to the State's economy.
The accomplishment of the mission requires a great degree of organiational pride and employee didication. the traditional "FPS Team" concepts ensures success.
In dealing with the various tasks and duties assigned to Florida Park Services, we categorize everything we do into what is called the Big Five - Administration, Maintenance, Protection, Resource Management and Visitor Services. Through each of these areas is distinct, they are also inter-related in the execution of our daily undertakings.
The Florida Park Service is the first two-time Gold Medal winner honoring the nation's best state park service. The National Gold Medal Award for Excellance in Park REcreation Management is presented by the American Academy for Park and Recreation Administration in partnership with the National Recreation and Park Association.
Volunteers with Florida State Parks should be proud of this accomplishment and know that without their assistance, this kind of recognition would not be possible.
