This is a BIG and worthy calling but surprisingly, it will not take too much of your time.
You can set your visit schedule with your volunteer coordinator and the patient care team. You can choose assignments near your home or your work. Hospice volunteer visitors may visit at home patients or in facility patients, depending on the needs of the patients and the comfort level of the volunteer.

Description

APEX Hospice and Palliative Care seeks to meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of patients and families who are facing a terminal illness. We focus on quality of life by providing comfort, company and active treatment of distressing symptoms, with the patient and their family as the focus of care.

Volunteers are an integral part of the Apex team and can find meaning, purpose and peace in supporting patients and loved ones during this time. Apex Hospice has successfully placed volunteers in roles that add to the quality of life of the patient and family while using the gifts of the volunteers.
