Cambridge Office for Tourism is accepting applications for the volunteer role at the Cambridge Visitor Information Center. The visitor center is located in the heart of Harvard Square on the ground floor of Cambridge Savings Bank next to the Harvard Red Line MBTA station. Visitor Center volunteers greet visitors, give directions, hand out brochures and maps, and answer questions about visiting Cambridge. They provide a valuable service to the community and to visitors.

We are looking for volunteers to work a weekly, four hour shift on Saturdays, Sundays, or to fill in as needed. Shifts are available from 9am-1pm and 1-5pm on Saturdays. Sunday shifts are from 9am-1pm. We are also looking for substitute volunteers to fill in during the week and on weekends as needed.

Cambridge Office for Tourism seeks to enrich the City of Cambridge by promoting its many special attractions and cultural amenities for the enjoyment of both residents and visitors.

Mission Statement

Established in 1994, the Cambridge Office for Tourism is a non-profit agency which coordinates all destination marketing and visitor services for the City of Cambridge. The office is responsible for fulfillment of visitor requests, development of new visitor information materials, operation of a Visitor Information Booth in the heart of Harvard Square, as well as all aspects of marketing and public relations for Cambridge.

Description

The office is managed by a 13-member Board of Directors, is staffed by two full-time employees, and works closely with the Greater Boston Convention and Visitors Bureau which also represents this destination as one of the state's 13 regional tourist councils. Since 1995, the Cambridge Office for Tourism has managed the day-to-day operations of the Visitor Information Booth located in the heart of Harvard Square, adjacent to the MBTA Station.
