Thank you for choosing to volunteer with Girls on the Run of the Rockies! We’re thrilled to have you volunteer with us. Volunteers play a vital role in making the program possible. Here’s how you can support Girls on the Run in 2024:

  • Program support projects based at the Girls on the Run office

  • Program season outreach support to teams

  • Community events outreach support and engagement

  • Girls on the Run 5K race logistic volunteers

  • Girls on the Run 5K Running Buddy

You can click here to view a list of our current volunteer opportunities. Then, expect to receive emails from us as more ways to get involved arise. Also, be sure to follow us on social media to stay up to date on all things GOTR Rockies.

Again, volunteers make the program possible for 5,000 girls annually along the Front Range. Please take pride in knowing you are helping empower girls. Here are a few things we recently heard from our participants and their families:

"I learned that in Girls on the Run you can be who you want to be." - Alexis, Foothills Elementary

"Girls on the Run helped my girl learn to achieve great things and that she is powerful and amazing." Erica, a parent at Rocky Mountain Prep/Creekside

We look forward to meeting you! We are truly grateful for all the people who have touched this organization and believe in helping girls learn to know and activate their limitless potential.

Mission Statement

We envision a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams.

Description

Girls on the Run(r) is a 501(c)3 physical activity-based positive youth development (PA-PYD) program designed to develop and enhance girls’ social, psychological, and physical competencies to successfully navigate life experiences. The Girls on the Run(r) program combines training for a 5k with an interactive curriculum targeting the promotion of competence, confidence, connection, character, caring, and contribution.

Girls on the Run(r) creates a psychologically safe environment for girls to learn about themselves, connect with others, and contribute to the community. Focus on competition and ability in physical activity contexts is often a barrier for participation for girls. Girls report more enjoyment, satisfaction and positive relationships with others in climates focused on improvement, skill mastery, effort, and peer support.
