The Community Hospice is looking for compassionate and friendly people who have positive attitudes and are good listeners to be Community Hospice Volunteers. Volunteers may visit with patients and families in private homes, hospitals and nursing homes. Volunteers may also help with administrative work in the Hospice office, deliver supplies, run errands, and support the Hospice effort in a number of other ways. On-going support is given to all who serve as Community Hospice volunteers.
Our volunteers describe their work with Hospice as one of the most valuable experiences in their lives. Their visits bring warmth, compassion, support, strong shoulders and humor to people in the final stages of life, and improve the quality of life of both patients and families. Volunteers repeatedly tell us that they get so much more from the experience than they ever give.
Volunteers are most needed Monday-Friday during the day.
