Greetings,
PAWS/LA is looking to assemble a team of drivers to help us pick up food and other supplies from local warehouses. We distribute resources to low-income pet owners throughout LA County, serving individuals that might otherwise struggle to keep their essential service animals.
We pick up supplies maybe once a month from locations close (approximately a 20 min drive) from our DTLA office. Ideally, I'd like to assemble a roster of generous folks who I can call up when the need arises. The timing can be flexible, sometime between 9 am and 4 pm on weekdays. Mornings would be best, but we will work with you to find a mutually convenient time.
The opportunity does not require any heavy lifting, only driving, as the warehouse staff will load the pallets directly onto the truck. Our van is a small Nissan and does not require any kind of specialist license or registration.
This is a great opportunity to support a cause with only a small time commitment. Plus, you'll get a behind-the-scenes look at how our organization works.
Interested volunteers must be over 18 and have a valid driver's license and clean record. For more info, reply to this post or email rhilary@pawsla.org.
Thanks!
