ORGANIZATION: National Center for Learning Disabilities

NCLD is actively recruiting parents and caregivers of students with learning disabilities and attention disorders to partner with us to advocate for and elevate innovative solutions for K-12 and transition-aged students!

In 2024, we aim to bring together a small group of dedicated parents and caregivers to join us in

  • Driving the development of tools to help connect parents to local resources.

  • Engaging in focus groups to advance NCLD’s research.

  • Providing feedback on policy and advocacy resources.

  • Contributing to the planning of NCLD’s LD Visibility Summit.

All volunteers selected to participate will receive an honorarium at the end of their term (November). Participants will also be invited to attend NCLD’s first ever LD Visibility Summit in Washington DC, October 6th-9th, with travel and hotel expenses fully covered by NCLD.

We are eager to invite parents and caregivers to apply who

  • Have students aged kindergarten to 21 yrs old with a Specific Learning Disability (SLD) and/or attention related disorders.

  • Are interested in learning more about federal policy.

  • Have some experience with local advocacy.

  • Are able to commit to attending monthly meetings beginning in May through late November.
