As a volunteer Grant-Writing Specialist at NicerFL Refugee and New Immigrant Welcome Centers, you will play a crucial role in securing funding and resources for our organization, enabling us to continue providing essential support and services to refugee and immigrant communities.

Responsibilities:

- Research and identify potential grant opportunities from various sources, including government agencies, foundations, and corporate entities.

- Prepare compelling grant proposals and applications, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission, goals, and objectives.

- Collaborate with program managers and staff to gather relevant information and data to support grant applications.

- Develop and maintain relationships with funders and grant-making organizations, providing regular updates and reports on the progress and impact of funded projects.

- Stay updated on grant application guidelines, deadlines, and funding trends to maximize success rates.

Qualifications:

- Strong grant writing skills, with the ability to craft persuasive and well-structured proposals.

- Excellent research abilities to identify suitable grant opportunities.

- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage multiple grant applications and deadlines.

- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal stakeholders and external funders.

- Familiarity with refugee and immigrant issues and a passion for supporting these communities is desirable but not mandatory.

NICERFL is committed to empowering newly arrived youth and adult immigrants, one at a time, to be self-sufficient and successfully integrate in the economic, cultural and social fabric of SW Florida!

Description

NicerFL Welcome Centers, located in Pinellas Park, USF Tampa, and Sarasota, provide comprehensive integration support for refugees and other new immigrants through a network of welcoming centers. These centers serve as safe, inclusive spaces where refugees can access services, participate in programs, and connect with others. We offer a wide range of immigrant support services, including personalized intake and newcomer immigrant support planning, English language life skills and cultural integration classes at 4 language levels, family literacy projects, career coaching, referral services, resource mentoring, well-being projects, and newcomer youth academic services.

NicerFL volunteers work hard to make sure that every new neighbor is welcomed and connected to the larger Florida community where they live. We also help newcomers transition to a new life in Florida.
