Internship Overview: We are seeking a passionate and skilled individual to join our team as a Micro-Grant Development Intern. As a skilled volunteer, you will play a crucial role in expanding our mission and creating awareness about our initiatives. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a meaningful cause and make a positive impact on communities striving for education and personal growth.


Key Responsibilities:

Grant Preparation and Execution

  • Research and identify potential micro-grant opportunities from various sources
  • Assist in the preparation of grant proposals, ensuring alignment with organizational goals
  • Compile and organize supporting documents, including budget details and project timelines
  • Collaborate with team members to gather information and insights for grant applications.
  • Maintain accurate records of grant submissions, deadlines, and outcome.
  • Stay informed about relevant trends and best practices in grant-seeking for continuous improvement.

Online Mentorship

  • Actively engage in virtual mentorship, fostering a supportive online relationship with student(s) abroad by providing guidance on extracurricular educational pursuits, including assistance with homework, reading, and exploring enjoyable study topics.

Qualifications:

  • Passion for education and community development
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.
  • Exceptional written communication skills with the ability to craft compelling and persuasive grant proposals.
  • Proficient in researching potential grant opportunities, understanding eligibility criteria, and identifying suitable funding prospects.
  • Willingness to thoroughly research and comprehend current projects in order to provide detailed and accurate information in grant proposals.
  • Keen attention to detail in preparing and proofreading grant proposals ot ensure accuracy and adherence to guidelines.
  • Previous experience in grant writing, especially in the context of micro grans or similar funding mechanisms.
  • Basic understanding of budgeting principles to assist in the development of accurate and realistic project budget amounts in grant proposals.
  • Familiarity with key terminology and concepts in the field of international development, ensuring the ability to incorporate relevant language and contextual understanding into grant proposals.
  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master's program
  • Willingness to serve as a mentor to one of our mentees, fostering a supportive and encouraging relationship that contributes to the mentee's personal and academic growth.

Our mission is to instill a generational difference among villages around the world by bringing hope through books. We have village libraries all over the world including in Peru, Nepal, Belize, Ghana, and more. You can work with us internationally by working in one of our libraries, or you can work with us domestically by helping coordinate new library opportunities.
