Internship Overview: We are seeking a passionate and skilled individual to join our team as a Fundraising and Community Engagement Intern. As a skilled volunteer, you will play a crucial role in expanding our mission and creating awareness about our initiatives. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a meaningful cause and make a positive impact on communities striving for education and personal growth.


Key Responsibilities:

Fundraising Campaigns:

  • Collaborate with the fundraising team to plan and execute online and offline fundraising campaigns.
  • Develop compelling fundraising materials, including social media content, emails, and promotional materials.
  • Assist in donor outreach and relationship management.

Community Engagement:

  • Engage with our community through various channels to raise awareness about our initiatives.
  • Organize and promote virtual and in-person events to connect with supporters and donors.
  • Collaborate with partners, volunteers, and stakeholders to expand our network.

Online Mentorship

  • Actively engage in virtual mentorship, fostering a supportive online relationship with student(s) abroad by providing guidance on extracurricular educational pursuits, including assistance with homework, reading, and exploring enjoyable study topics.

Qualifications:

  • Passion for education and community development
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.
  • Basic understanding of fundraising principles and strategies (previous experience is a plus but not required).
  • Ability to build positive relationships with donors, supporters, and team members, fostering a collaborative and donor-centric approach.
  • Willingness to take initiative in identifying and pursuing fundraising opportunities, as well as proposing innovative ideas to enhance fundraising efforts.
  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master's program
  • Willingness to serve as a mentor to one of our mentees, fostering a supportive and encouraging relationship that contributes to the mentee's personal and academic growth.

Our mission is to instill a generational difference among villages around the world by bringing hope through books. We have village libraries all over the world including in Peru, Nepal, Belize, Ghana, and more. You can work with us internationally by working in one of our libraries, or you can work with us domestically by helping coordinate new library opportunities.
