United Way of Greater Cincinnati is asking community and corporate volunteers to collect, assemble and distribute 2,500 backpacks filled with school supplies for elementary, middle and high school students throughout Hamilton, Clemont and Brown County, Northern Kentucky and Indiana. We know quality education is crucial for families to achieve economic well-being, so United Way is committed to ensuring all children are prepared to learn. This is one way to help.

There are three easy ways to support this effort:

  1. Contribute items through our Virtual Product Drive - Purchase school items for elementary and middle/high school students from our Virtual Backpacks for Success product drive.
  2. Host Your Own Assembly Event - Purchase backpacks and school supplies on your own (United Way will provide a list), assemble the backpacks with friends, family, or colleagues, and deliver them to United Way for distribution. We will work with you to coordinate a drop-off day of your completed backpacks to United Way.
  3. Volunteer in Person - The backpacks will be distributed during three community events in July and August. Volunteers (including small groups up to 10 people) are needed for the Back-to-School events.
Sign-up, and United Way will reach out to learn more about your preferences for supporting this program, and provide information and next steps.

Thank you for helping students return to school prepared to learn!
