The Serving Center is looking for volunteers that either know how to grow fruits and vegetables, or would like to learn under our Williamson County Master Gardeners. Volunteers meet every Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning from 9-11 (weather permitting), and the 1st Saturday of every month (except April), also from 9-11. You can come as often as you like and you don't need to stay the whole 2 hours. If you just want to come for an hour and harvest, that's great.

Our gardens provide about 5000 pounds of fresh, organic produce to the food pantry every year and we teach and assist 5 client families to manage their own beds at the garden. We have 47 raised vegetable beds and a small orchard with blackberries, grapes, figs, pears, pomegranates, mulberries and this year we are installing a raspberry bed.

No experience required, but it does help to enjoy being outside. Here's what you can learn or teach: soil preparation, planting seeds and transplants, pest control, fertilizing, harvesting, weed control, composting and greenhouse management.
