Calling all Newton volunteers!
Community Cooks is looking for new volunteers to cook ONE DISH, ONCE A MONTH to help nourish neighbors in need. Need five volunteers ASAP to each cook one dish each that serves 10-12 people. Starting in April, volunteers should be able to deliver to Newton Corner Place (276 Church Street Newton, MA 02458) on the fourth Thursday of the month between 8:30am-11:30am.
Newton Corner Place (NCP) is a single-room occupancy residence for adult men that is located on the top floor of the West Suburban YMCA. All of the residents were formerly homeless and some have lived at NCP for 20 years. Community Cooks supports NCP by providing them with nourishing meals based on resident's needs and preferences.

Community Cooks is a network of volunteers who offer free, home-cooked meals to vulnerable populations seeking assistance from direct-service agencies in the Greater Boston area. We proudly partner with these agencies that, due to lack of funds and/or facilities, struggle to provide food for those they serve.
Description
In contributing nutritious and much-needed food, Community Cooks aims to: feed our hungry neighbors who might otherwise go without; build a bridge of caring between volunteers and community members in need and; support conditions for program participants to achieve success by alleviating their hunger needs.
