We are looking for volunteers to connect with International guests and travelers and bring them to farmers markets around the city! Our suggested locations are: the Ferry Building, the Civic Center, and Fort Mason.
This opportunity would start around 9am on either Sundays or Mondays and conclude around 11am.
We would ask that you meet the guests at the hostel in downtown (312 Mason st) and take public transit with them to whatever location we decide on. You would facilitate conversation, supply them with any info about the location & the city in general, and just give them a local's perspective on things.
Buy some fruits and veggies for yourself and show them some of your favorite items!
The benefits of volunteering with HI USA include:
- Meet new people from all over the world, including travelers, staff, and fellow volunteers
- Work to increase understanding and tolerance by helping people break down cultural barriers
- Help travelers to the community have a great travel experience
- Build skills in public speaking, foreign languages and intercultural communication
- Participate in fun appreciation events for local volunteers
- Receive personal and professional development opportunities
- Earn HI USA membership and dorm overnights at HI USA hostels
