To present volunteer opportunities to businesses around San Antonio and surrounding areas to assist children and young adults with various disabilities to learn about and experience horses, to address physical limitations as well as emotional and social needs. We currently have 120 volunteer slots covered each week. The ultimate goal is 140 volunteer slots covered each week to provide Therapeutic Horseback Riding and Hippotherapy to individuals with various diagnosis such as Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Spina Bifida, Down Syndrome, ADHD, Sensory processing difficulties and brain injury to mention a few. We need a person that believes in our mission and can go out into the community and recruit volunteers to assist with our service. It takes a small village! :-)

Mission Statement
Saddle Light Center (SLC) is a community oriented non-profit organization. Our mission is to provide equestrian therapy for children, teenagers, and adults that have a disability including: neurological, orthopedic, learning, and emotional as well as a wide range of others. Our goal is to inspire our riders to accomplishments previously considered beyond their capabilities.
Description
Saddle Light Center was founded in May of 1991 for the purpose of providing horse-based therapy for individuals with a wide range of disabilities. Because of the strength, balance, and coordination developed through horse back riding, participants often find that other physical tasks such as walking become possible. Therapy on horseback is fun while providing significant physical, mental, and emotional benefits. Riders are scheduled on weekday afternoons and evenings.
