About:
This volunteer will help sort, catalog & store all in-kind donations in the appropriate storage areas throughout the shelter. If interested in this role please apply here, https://timecounts.org/access-volunteer

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Accept, inspect and separate donations according to our guidelines
  • Help organize & maintain our various storage areas
  • Make the donation coordinator aware of any items needed or have low inventory
  • Assess the usability & quality of donated items
  • Keep record of incoming donations on our donation inventory form
  • Lifting, bending and carrying items up and down the stairs
Requirements:
  • Must pass a background check
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Preferred...ability to stay organized & multitask in a professional manner
Impact:

Volunteers will enhance organizational efficiency by processing donations promptly and keeping storage areas clean and organized so items can be accessed. Volunteers will also have an impact on the wellbeing of our residents by ensuring we have items that are needed to provide quality care.

  • morning / 09:30 AM to 11:30 AM
    This volunteer role is available each Monday morning

Description

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF ACCESS?

  • To provide emergency shelter services for women and children.
  • To link women and existing resources in the community.
  • To aid in the attainment of an independent future.
  • To assist in alleviating the situation that caused them to seek emergency shelter.
Women may be in need of emergency shelter for many reasons including eviction, unemployment, transiency, utility disconnections and all types of crisis circumstances.
