Hopelink is looking for Financial Education Volunteers that speak Russian, Farsi, Portuguese, or Chinese speakers. We are looking for passionate volunteers with some financial background who can teach and support people on their path to financial wellness and contribute to providing quality financial education resources.

Goal: To deliver Hopelink’s Financial Foundations curriculum and supporting materials to help recent arrivals learn more about the American financial system via workshops and small groups and to help them develop a solid financial foundation for understanding and navigating essential parts of this new economic system. Hopelink’s Financial Foundations curriculum covers goal setting, managing money, budgeting, credit, and banking. Each module will include an instructor guide to help lead financial conversations and a participant workbook developed in English and translated into Russian, Farsi, Portuguese and Chinese.

Location: In-person or virtual

Being a Financial Education Volunteer is an inspiring and rewarding role. We are looking for volunteers who can commit to this role for at least six months so you can develop skills, gain knowledge, and see your work's impact on participants’ lives. Volunteers will receive training in the Financial Foundations curriculum, financial topics, and using a trauma-informed approach to conversations.

Mission Statement

The mission of Hopelink is to promote self-sufficiency for all members of our community; we help people make lasting change.

Description

Hopelink is the largest private, non-profit, social service agency in north and east King County. Hopelink started in 1971 in Bothell to assist families who had been affected by Boeing lay-offs with job search services. Since then, Hopelink has grown to include six emergency service centers and food banks, and programs in housing, family development, childcare, transportation, and more. In July of 2001, Eastside Literacy became a program of Hopelink, adding Adult Literacy and English as a Second Language services to our programs. Over 2000 Hopelink volunteers help their neighbors work towards lasting change each year.
