ORGANIZATION: Marion Polk Food Share

Meals on Wheels is looking for volunteers to work at the dining room location at Center 50+. Many seniors use Center 50+ daily and stop by our dining room for a nutritious meal created by our kitchen team. We are currently looking for volunteers to help with dining room set up and serving.

Volunteers Will:

  • Set up dining room: table linens, place-mats, silverware, coffee cups, condiments, etc.
  • Serve coffee, tea, ice water, and salads.
  • Deliver meals diners.
  • Clear tables and reset if needed.
  • Enjoy the company of the dining room patrons and have fun!

1 Shift

  • 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM
    Set up, serve, and clean up the congregate dining lunch

Description

Every month, more than 46,000 people - including 15,000 children - will access emergency food through the Marion Polk Food Share partner network. This food may be a hot meal served at a shelter, a free community meal served at a church, or an emergency food box from a food pantry. This nutritious food will help children and adults learn, work, and thrive.
