Are you looking for a unique service leadership opportunity that allows you to put your life experiences to direct good use? Girls on the Run Palm Beach is seeking Board Members to drive our mission forward.

Every person can bring something to the table and that means you. Whether you are good at networking, sports, running, marketing, business development, media, making/have connections in the community, are a people person, or other skills, we need you. Your enthusiasm, flexibility, and creative ideas help us make a better world for our local girls.

At Girls on the Run Palm Beach, we strive to be an inclusive organization that honors multiple approaches and points of view. We believe diversity drives innovation and celebrates the spirit and opportunity of our community. To help us best represent our diverse local communities, BIPOC, retirees, and other residents of Palm Beach County who are age 21+ are encouraged to apply.

Board Meetings are held monthly, in person once per quarter, virtually in other months. Other meetings, such as task forces or committees, are scheduled as needed. It's expected that Board Members bring their enthusiasm for our cause to light by working outside of meetings on solutions and tasks relating to our goals. The individuals for this office will each serve an initial 2-year commitment and may be re-elected for additional terms.

WHAT OUR ORGANIZATION DOES: Girls on the Run encourages girls of all abilities to recognize their individual strengths and celebrate connections with others. Our tested curricula blend physical activity with skill development that enables girls to adapt to whatever comes their way. Different versions of the curriculum ensure that no matter how many times girls participate, there is always something new to explore and learn. In today’s unpredictable world, the strategies girls learn at Girls on Run are more important than ever.

Mission Statement

We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. Being a young girl in today’s society is tough! Girls on the Run helps third- through eighth-grade girls navigate difficult situations such as how to handle a bully, deal with difficult emotions, and how to stay healthy. Our one-of-a-kind program combines discussions of relevant topics with running to explore important values like gratitude and friendship and to inspire self-respect and healthy lifestyles. Our core curricula address many aspects of girls' development - their physical, emotional, mental and social well-being. Lessons provide girls with the tools to make positive decisions and to avoid risky behaviors. Girls on the Run is a 501(c)3 positive youth development organization.
