Take action to prevent home fires in Twin Falls
ORGANIZATION: American Red Cross of Idaho and Montana
Please visit the new page to apply.
Most of us don’t realize we have just two minutes to escape a home fire - which is the nation’s most frequent disaster. On average:
- 7 people die every day from a home fire, most impacting children and the elderly.
- More than 30 people suffer injuries from home fires every day.
- More than $7 billion in property damage occurs from home fires every year.
Swift action during a home fire can be life-saving, and it all starts with early detection through smoke alarms and practiced escape plans. By becoming a volunteer with our Home Fire Campaign (HFC) team, you have the opportunity to play a vital role in saving lives and reducing injuries caused by home fires. As a team member, you will install smoke alarms and provide vital home fire safety information to those requesting assistance. You'll also participate in organizing Sound the Alarm events through door-to-door canvassing and appointments, all aimed at enhancing home fire safety.
Time Commitment: A few hours per month based on events and local requests.
