ORGANIZATION: Golden Gate Bird Alliance (formerly Golden Gate Audubon Society)

GGBA, with its partners -Oakland Zoo, SFBBO, IBR, and CDFW -is working towards a resolution of issues concerning local business owners and community members, and the BCNH who currently roost in the trees in their locale. The BCNH is, of course, the official bird of the City of Oakland and deserves fair treatment in any forthcoming resolution regarding possible re-location or other mitigations to make life good for both the birds and the human residents. You can assist in meetings with the businesses and community members, and with door to door and other means of outreach.

Founded in 1917, Golden Gate Bird Alliance is one of the oldest wildlife conservation organizations on the West Coast. We have a long history of inspiring and connecting people in the Bay Area with local birds, wildlife and their habitats and today play a critical role in Bay Area wildlife conservation. Golden Gate Bird Alliance has roughly 7,000 members and supporters in San Francisco, Alameda and Contra Costa counties.
