As an Adult Library Program Host Volunteer at the Delray Beach Public Library, you will play a key role in facilitating smooth and engaging adult education programs. Your responsibilities will include assisting the Adult Education Program Manager with guest interactions, event logistics, and ensuring a positive experience for participants.

Responsibilities:

1. Guest Sign-Ups and Check-Ins:

- Assist attendees with the sign-up process for programs and events.

- Warmly welcome guests and manage the check-in process.

2. Program Orientation:

- Provide guests with an overview of the program agenda, ensuring they are aware of key details.

- Answer any questions and offer guidance on the program's flow.

3. Information Dissemination:

- Effectively communicate relevant information, such as program details, upcoming events, and library resources.

- Assist with distributing materials or handouts related to the program.

4. Ticket Sales and Raffles:

- Handle ticket sales if applicable, ensuring a seamless transaction process.

- Facilitate raffles or other fundraising activities, if part of the program.

5. Collaboration with Program Manager:

- Work closely with the Adult Education Program Manager to address any on-site challenges or adjustments to the program.

- Provide feedback on guest experiences and offer suggestions for improvement.

Qualifications:

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

- Friendly and approachable demeanor.

- Ability to manage multiple tasks and details simultaneously.

- Comfortable with basic sales transactions.

Description

The Ladies Improvement Association founded the Delray Beach Public Library in 1913. In 1938 the Delray Beach Public Library Association became a not-for-profit corporation to provide a public library in Delray Beach. Since 1950, our patrons have received library service through a successful public/private partnership between the City of Delray Beach and the Library Association. The City of Delray Beach has provided a large percentage of the annual operating budget and the Library Association has raised capital funds.

Delray Beach Public Library exists to enrich the lives of the individuals of Delray Beach’s diverse communities by creating and sustaining superior public library services through responsive staff, dynamic collections, appropriate technology and access to global information.
