Wake Up with Surrey Volunteer (Daily - setup 9:15-9:30 am; Wake up With Surrey gathering 9:30-10:30 am) This volunteer hosts a daily morning opportunity for members to chat and have a cup. This volunteer will set up the morning coffee and tea station in the Sun Room (hot coffee, hot water for tea, creamer, sweeteners, stirrers, and the coffee mug display), keep the area clean while in use, and bring the used coffee mugs into the kitchen to be run through the dishwasher. This volunteer has an important role in making everyone feel welcome, introducing people to each other, and letting staff know if member needs or hardships become known through informal conversation.

For nearly 45 years, Surrey has connected people and resources, creating a vibrant community of older adults. We offer programs and services that help older adults remain safe and engaged in our community including:

  • Activities, exercise, clubs, lunch, and lectures at any Surrey center - Bryn Mawr, Broomall, Devon, or Media
  • Nutritious meals available in-person or Grab and Go Monday-Friday at Devon, Broomall, and Media
  • Transportation services, fee-based and free, provided by volunteers, Surrey Drivers and through partnerships with Chester County Community Transit (Chester County) and DELGO Community Transit (Delaware County)
  • Home care services including RN Care Management for help with medication management and care; personal care for help bathing and dressing; and Personal Finance Management for help with bills, insurance claims, and long-term care policies.
  • Opportunities to downsize and consign with the Surrey Consignment Shop.
  • Free instruction, support, and hands-on training for family caregivers and aspiring caregivers at The Surrey Academy.
