Description
World Computer Exchange is seeking a SchoolsProgram Developer to assist the Chicago Chapter Coordinator in developing jointprograms with local universities and high schools for the Chicago Chapter. These students will be asked to fill the role described in "Donate Time Option" on our website.
The position would require 2-4 hours perweek, and would last 6 months or longer. Some work
can be done online from the home. Applicants need to have some familiarity with the Chicago area.
World Computer Exchange is an internationalnon-profit that collects working, donated computers and raises funds to sendcontainers of computers to schools & youth centers in developing countries.This is a great opportunity to gain leadership experience in marketing and publicrelations while helping to bridge the digital divide.

Major Responsibilities:
To reach out touniversities, colleges, and high schools and their various programs anddepartments, seeking:
- Computer donations from grant programs, school staff, and/or students, either as one-time collection events or as an ongoing program.
- Community service volunteer groups or programs that might be interested in helping in various aspects of WCE, such as:
* providing onlinehelp to our overseas partners with
Tech advice,education content, or fundraising,
*sponsoring aspecific ICT project in a specific country and helping to find and/or raisefunds for it
* assisting withcomputer collection and testing and packing a container of computers
·Development of a sister school program with asimilar school in a developing country
·Building general community support for local WCE initiatives
Skills
1.Strong interpersonal skills, especially in verbal and writtencommunications.
2.Motivated self-starter capable of working independently and with a team.
3.Good organizational skills and an ability to handle multiple tasks.
4.Previous program development and marketing experience is not required,however it would be a plus.
5.Reliability in keeping commitments.
6.Enthusiasm for technology and community service.
7.Interest in learning about developing areas of the world.
8.Interest in extending the life of computers and keeping them out oflandfills
