Just a few miles but hundreds of smiles! Volunteers are needed to provide transportation to folks in need through a progam called One-2-One. Drivers volunteer when they can to transport individuals to essential appointments such as medical appointments or food shopping excursions. Each driver is a registerd RSVP volunteer thus enjoying the benefits of that affiliation such as supplemental insurance, recognition events, and newsletters of interest. Support and ongoing training is provided the staff at One-2-One. You use your own vehicle but mileage reimbursement is provided. Scheduling is done by the One-2-One staff and you have complete control over how often and when you will drive. This opportunity allows fellow Vermonters to remain in their homes and eases the isolation so often a part of the rural elder Vermonters life. Your assistance with this effort would be greatly appreciated!
