The National Parks of Boston is the organizational framework for managing and supporting the collection of National Park sites in Boston: Boston National Historical Park (BOST), Boston African American National Historic Site (BOAF), and Boston Harbor Islands National and State Park (BOHA).

About Faneuil Hall :

Faneuil Hall is an historic meeting place and market, built in 1742, with ties to the American Revolution, abolitionist movement, and other American social movements. Major Duties of Position:

The main role of a Visitor Services Assistant is to facilitate the visitor experience at the Faneuil Hall front desk. This includes providing welcome, orientation, and informal interpretation of park sites to visitors on a one-to-one or group basis that will increase visitor's knowledge of the park's significance and relevance. The Visitor Services Assistant will also play an important role in maintaining a welcoming front desk area, ensuring a positive environment for visitors. This includes creating a warm and inclusive atmosphere, ensuring that each visitor feels genuinely welcomed and included during their time at Faneuil Hall.

Work will consist of assisting rangers at Faneuil Hall on specific days and shifts. Specific duties include answering questions from the public and providing verbal and printed information as needed; providing visitors with clear instructions on how to plan their trip to Boston; informing visitors about programs and events; and giving general park orientation. Additional support tasks may include providing formal and informal interpretation of the historical resources.

Volunteers should enjoy working with the public and be able to keep their composure in stressful and distracting situations. In this setting volunteers should expect regular and frequent contact with a high level of visitors. Rangers and volunteers are not confined to a desk, although kiosk and chairs are provided.
