Thank you for your interest in assisting with our volunteering needs.

This position will be helping new students register for our high school equivalency program, monitor students as they take assessments, and assist current students with online digital resources.

You should:

  • have a high school diploma or better
  • be 18 yrs of age or older
  • technologically savvy
  • be available for at least one shift weekly (Monday - Thursday)
  • have patience and people skills
  • work well with a team
  • willing to go through the basic literacy training (2 hours self-paced modules)

2 Shifts

  • morning / 09:00 AM to 11:00 AM
  • 11:00 AM to 01:00 PM
  • NONE OF THESE TIMES WORK FOR ME, BUT I CAN STILL HELP

Description

The DLC provides direct individual and small group instruction in reading, writing, English language, and computer skills to adults and families seeking to improve their education and/or move toward economic self-suffiency. We partner with a number of social service, health, education, and workforce-related organizations and agencies to meet the diverse needs of the Durham community.
