Become a FeederWatch host with TAS!
Project FeederWatch is citizen science project first started in 1976 with just a few participants in Ontario, and now draws over 20,000 participants across Canada and the US. FeederWatch data provides vital information on winter bird populations. Data collected by Project FeederWatch revealed a 4 percent yearly drop in Florida painted bunting populations, which led to an enhanced monitoring program to be put in place.
We’re looking for a few friendly birders to host FeederWatch at our headquarters at Adriana Hess Wetland Park in University Place. Watch the feeders from the comfort of our conference room and record your sightings to the official TAS FeederWatch account. If you're a beginner, feel free to come volunteer and learn from others as an observer.
Build your birding skills, meet other birders, and contribute valuable population data to the FeederWatch project!
