Mission Statement
"To increase prenatal education and enhance youth and community development programs for underserved communities. We will serve our community and program participants with integrity and a commitment to excellence."
Description
The Five Pearls Foundation is a public charity whose mission is to increase prenatal education and enhance youth and community development programs for underserved communities. Through our programs, we aim to positively affecting the ills that affect underserved communities, specifically, poor health, limited access to quality education and an unrealized understanding of their place in the world and the possibilities that exist for each individual.
It is our vision that as a result of the efforts of the Five Pearls Foundation:
- There will be a decrease in the incidence of premature births in Harlem.
- Underserved, low income women of color will have support that will lift them out of poverty into financial stability, out of the darkness of loneliness and into a supportive nurturing environment.
- Our youth will have increased exposure to cultural, educational and economic opportunities that will open them up to new possibilities for their lives and create well-rounded, intelligent, confident and healthy young adults who are prepared for higher education and viable careers.
We pursue our mission by developing strategic partnerships with existing organizations in order to provide support for our prenatal care program-the Stork's Nest- to develop scholarship opportunities for college students and to provide support for youth and community development initiatives.
