Make a huge impact in the lives of children simply by being present and caring. The Corning Salvation Army needs volunteers to assist with K-3rd graders in their after school program. Adult volunteers assist kids with their reading skills, help them with their homework, and participate with crafts. Volunteers are needed Monday - Friday after 3pm.

Volunteers make a difference!
AmeriCorps Seniors of Steuben County provides opportunities for people ages 55 and over to make a significant impact in their communities through volunteering. Volunteers contribute anywhere from a few hours a month to over 40 hours a week serving in their communities. Opportunities to serve include volunteering at local hospitals and nursing homes, schools, food pantries, public safety programs, and other nonprofit agencies and organizations. RSVP staff assist volunteers in sharing their experience, abilities and skills for the betterment of the community and themselves. Volunteer orientation, on-site training, supplemental insurance (while on duty), and mileage reimbursement are free services available for RSVP volunteers.
