Chesapeake CASA program

Every year more than half a million abused and neglected children are in need of safe, permanent, nurturing homes. Too many spend years moving from one temporary home to another. They have no family to call their own. They are more likely than other children to face homelessness, unemployment, even prison as adults. That's where CASA volunteers step in. CASA was created to make sure the abuse and neglect these children originally suffered at home doesn't continue as abuse and neglect at the hands of the system. As trained advocates, CASA volunteers are appointed by judges to be a voice for these children. The result is that a child is either returned to their own home once it's safe, or placed into another safe, loving home where they can thrive. We are seeking more male volunteers to advocate for the young men that we advocate for. If you are a man in our community, with a desire to advocate for children in need, reach out to us!
