Description
Position Description: Refugees are eligible to apply for their Permanent Resident Card, or Green Card, after living in the U.S. for one year. Training: Green Card volunteers receive a general volunteer orientation from the Volunteer Coordinator and a Green Card training from the Immigration Services Coordinator and/or Immigration Outreach Specialist.
Supervision: Green Card volunteers will work alongside the Immigration Services Coordinator, who will be available to answer questions and review completed applications before submission to United States Immigration and Citizenship Services.
Time Commitment: Green Card volunteers are asked to volunteer at least once a month for a four-hour Green Card session, for a minimum of 4 months. Green Card sessions are held on Tuesdays from 1-5 p.m.
