Description
Amigos de las Américas is an international, nonprofit organization that was founded in 1965 and has more than 40 years of experience in facilitating community development programs.
We train and provide opportunities for high school and college students to participate in service projects in Latin America. We are dedicated to building partnerships to empower young leaders, advance community development, and strengthen multicultural understanding in the Americas. AMIGOS believes in the power and capability of young people to change our world!

Skills
To serve as an AMIGOS Volunteer in Latin America, you must:
- Be at least 16 years old by September 1st of the year of volunteer service
- Have completed two years of high school level Spanish, or the equivalent
- Have completed at least their sophomore year in high school
- Adhere to the AMIGOS' Standards of Conduct and Community Behavior
- Fulfill fundraising and training requirements
- Receive required immunizations
