Help provide delicious and nutritious meals for the families staying at the Ronald McDonald House of Denver while their children receive treatment at a local medical facility. We are seeking a prep cook to assist in preparing menu items in an efficient and consistent manner, following the specifications, recipes, and techniques defined by the chef.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Adhere to prep list with attention to detail
- Excellent knife skills and manual dexterity
- Understanding of basic cooking and preparation practices
- Familiarity with safe and sanitary food handling and preparation
- Perform basic cooking tasks (sear/mark meat, reduce sauces, parcook foods, etc.)
- Good math skills with a clear understanding of cooking measurements
- Strong sense of smell and taste
- Ensure appropriate food storage and labeling
- Great collaboration and teamwork skills
- Effective communication skills
Prep Cook Requirements and Qualifications:
- Previous experience working as a Prep Cook or Culinary School graduate preferred, but not required
- ServSafe Certification preferred
- Basic food handling and preparation knowledge
- Familiarity with health and safety kitchen rules and regulations
- Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
- Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills

RMHC and its global network of local Chapters also have hundreds of millions of dollars in grants and program services to children's programs around the world.
Please note: We have two locations under RMHC-Denver, the Denver House and the Aurora House. Both houses have the same volunteer opportunities! RMHC-Denver does not accept volunteers looking to fulfill court ordered community service requirements and will not validate court sanctioned service hours.
