Vitas Healthcare is looking for volunteers who are able to share their time with hospice patients living at home, assisted living, or in long term care facilities. Hospice volunteers give their time to terminally ill patients and their caregivers during a critical time. Hours are flexible, can be during the weekend. Average commitment is about 1 hour a week. Training is provided. Volunteers can offer companionship for the patient, read, play music, games, and help in other meaningful ways.

Volunteers are needed for the San Leandro, San Lorenzo and Hayward areas.

Volunteers are the heart of VITAS Healthcare, providing friendly, non-medical patient and family care and offering support services in the office, using their cars and from their own homes.
